Saturday, September 20 from 9 a.m. to noon - The 2008 Miami-Dade Coastal Cleanup.
This year there are six cleanup sites on Key Biscayne.

Sunday, September 28 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m - The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center will host Opening Reception of The Deluge Revisted art exhibit by Dylan Terry. Live music and refreshments will be served. The event is free, aside from the $5 parking fee. Support art in South Florida while being surrounded by the unique, natural environment. The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center promotes not only the preservation of the natural South Florida environment; but also local artists, like Terry, who display their interpretations of Nature in The Gallery at the Biscayne Nature Center. SAVE THE DATE -- Saturday, November 8 -- Key Biscayne Lighthouse Run Registration The 2008 Key Biscayne Lighthouse Run. The 31st annual Key Biscayne Lighthouse 5K/10K Run starts and finishes at the Lighthouse Café near the base of the historical Cape Florida Lighthouse in Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. The event begins at 7:45 a.m. Online signup is available. Register and pay the $20 registration fee online at www.active.com.

SAVE THE DATE -- Thursday, November 13 at 7PM -- Installation Ceremony Residents are invited to the installation ceremony for the new and re-elected Village Council members. The swearing-in will begin in the Island Room of the Community Center and will be followed by a reception.

The Rickenbacker Causeway is extending its working hours to accomodate the residents and businesses of Key Biscayne who need to renew or apply for the Causeway C-Card or Pass. Until Oct 11th, they will be open Monday-Friday from 8:00am-6pm (instead of 5pm), and they will be open on Saturdays from 8am-12noon.To obtain a Resident Plan, or to renew your pass, please bring the following to the Toll Plaza; a copy of current Driver’s License; Current Vehicle Registration - Registration must contain the name of the resident purchasing the plan; Proof of Residency - Customer must present one of the following: Current utility bill, property tax bill, lease agreement for more than six months with their name and Key Biscayne address on the above proof of residency.
