Holidays on the Key: Shopping Made Easy
My name is Alika Rose and I am the new Special Events Coordinator for the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Information Center. My father, Robert Brookes, has been a part of the Key since as long as I can remember. I was in Sensei Robert's Martial Arts Academy, loved going to every Art Festival and event, and I am now honored to be the Special Events Coordinator for the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce. I am currently married to a talented chef at the Sonesta Hotel in Coconut Grove and we are expecting our first child this month. I look forward to helping create wonderful events for the Chamber, meet new people, and absorb the amazing qualities Key Biscayne has to offer.

Friends of Cape Florida, Inc. - The Friends of Cape Florida, a Citizens Support Organization (SCO), works in partnership with Bill Baggs State Park to promote, protect and restore the natural and cultural resources of the park. Please join the Friends of Cape Florida through our membership and volunteer opportunities to help preserve all that this park represents in our community. Cape Florida is the home of a historic lighthouse built in 1825 and reconstructed in 1846, the oldest standing structure in Miami-Dade County. Guided tours of the lighthouse and lighthouse keeper´s cottage are given twice daily. Visitors also come to the park to sunbathe, swim, and picnic on over a mile of sandy Atlantic beachfront. Biking and kayaking are also popular activities. Anglers can throw in their lines from the seawall along Biscayne Bay for some of the best shoreline fishing in the region. There are two restaurants within the park, and picnickers can reserve a pavilion and grill their own meal. Bicycles, beach chairs, and umbrellas are available for rental. Overnight boat camping is allowed in No Name Harbor, and a primitive campsite is available for organized youth groups.  The park is located at the southern end of Key Biscayne off the Rickenbacker Causeway, south of downtown Miami, and is open from 8am to Sunset, 365 days a year.
